Technology costs a lot

It's really hard to refrain myself from curiosity on technology. Sometime ago while browsing the net, if i'm not mistaken, I got info that I can update my cell-phone software myself, (or I got the info from other sources...well, don't bother).
Then....
You can guess what's next.... ;p
in the middle of the night, I downloaded that software updater to my PC and curiously tried to work on it. I forgot that my USB cable sometimes doesn't work properly. But too late, I already started it. Then... it happened....
I couldn't start my cell-phone.... huaaaaaa.......
The next day I brought it to nokia care to fix it. The customer service said it would cost me quite lot. huaaaaaa.....
700 thousand rups is not quite lot you know... It's a LOT!!!!...huaaaaa...
I canceled it. I brought it to Roxy... hoping I would get much cheaper price...
Well, it's indeed cheaper actually... 600 thousand rups... huaaaaaa..... it's still a LOT!!!!

btw...
is it the technology that cost me a lot or my curiosity? ... well, don't bother.. =(
