"Koq begitu ya... dia kan psikolog. Koq sikapnya begitu.
Bingung gak?... bingung?... gak apa...
"Ya dia kan dokter kandungan, jadi kalo dia sakit jantung ya wajar lah..." hahahaaaaa...
...
(and I am an angel... hahahaaaa... no kidding!)

a sunny day wedding
It's been awhile I don't go to weddings. Not because I'm 'allergic' to weddings nor because I'm 'tired' of them. I'm just lazy, that's all. But this morning was an exception. Today is a big day for this good friend of mine. There's no way for me not to go to her wedding. This is the moment she's been waiting for and I just didn't want to miss it. She was so happy. Honestly, I've never seen her this 'sumringah' before. And the weather this morning was just as sunny as her face. Congratulations my friend, I'm happy for you =)

My impromptu end-of-year trip to Solo-Jogja (part 2)
Dec 28, 2008
We started the day with nasi liwet.... nyam-nyam. We already p;anned that the day was 'Solo time'. So after having our yummy nasi liwet, we decided to browse for batik.... hmmm...
Actually, I wan's really excited about buying one since I've got some in my wardrobe already. Anyway, I didn't plan to buy for my family either. HOWEVER.... as I stepped into the first batik gallery, I suddenly changed my mind.... heheeeeeee.
well... it wasn't even ten o'clock in the mornig, I already ended up buying things for my mom, dad, bro, sis, nephew, nieces, and in-laws.... (That's why now I'm flat broke, you know). But I wasn't the only one, though. My frieends did the same thing. At least this made me feel a bit 'better' =)
We had soto daging sapi triwindu as aour lunch. Then we headed for Solo Surakarta Keraton. They were preparing for 'Kirab Satu Sur' (Dec 29 was Islamic New Year and they had a kind of ritual to celebrate it called 'Kirab Satu Suro')

not many people visited the keraton that day

some historical objects inside the keraton
We went back to the hotel around 2 o'clock and had some rest. It was still hot outside, so we decided to continue exploring Solo in the evening. Anyway, we planned to see the kirab in keraton at midnight.
We ate some ice cream before having sate ayam as our dinner. Then we walked to keraton. The place was already packed of people. Even maybe the whole Solo residents were there since it was really-really full of people even though it was still 8.30 pm. While waiting for the ceremony, we browse around the 'Pameran Metafisika' or supernatural exhibition. Have you ever attended such exhibition? honestly it was the first time for me.

I wonder what his duty is.... waiting for 'patient' to consult or something?
Well... I didn't asked. But he did distribute brochures.

never thought they already expand to applied psychology.... hmmm...
We didn't spend much time for the exhibition. Instead, we tried to find comfortable posittion to wait for the opening.
the kirab opening ceremony.
This was done around 11 pm.

We went back to the hotel at two. My legs hurt since I had to stand up and walked for hours. I wasn't sure if I still had enough energy to go to jogja the next day.

We took a train to Jogja at 9 in the morning. everybody looked exhausted. But we couldn't just cancel our plan since we were scheduled to leave Solo on the 30th.

Solo Balapan was a small but clean train station.
Malioboro was not much different from the last time I visited Jogja few years ago. Only more hotels bulit aroung the area, and the place looked too crowded. We managed to taste gudeg for lunch.
Dec 30, 2008
Time to go home. I and a friend took Argo Lawu to Jakarta while my other two friends took Lodaya to Bandung.
What a tiring but exciting trip!

My impromptu end-of-year trip to Solo-Jogja
Dec 26, 2008
I and a friend went to Bandung around 5 pm. We would meet other two friends there and would leave for Solo by Lodaya the next morning. We arrived in Bandung around 8 pm and directly headed for 'Kopi Ireng' to have dinner. I ordered cheese omelet and hot cappucino. Hmmm... yummuy....
After dinner we left for our hotel to have a rest. We preferred staying in a hotel to our friends' home since the hotel was near to the train station. It was a small hotel but clean... and cheap =)
Dec 27, 2008
While waiting for other friends, we had breakfast. It was a plate of fried rice with a sunny-side-up egg plus sweet hot tea. We (four of us) left for the train station by Taxi. Our train was scheduled at 9 sharp.
Since this was an impromptu trip and the moment is end of year holiday, you can guess that we couldn't get the executive class. You were right. But business class was fine. It was full AC... Angin Cepoi-cepoi... heheeeee....
It took us more than 8 hours to get to Solo Balapan train station.... wheuw!!!... quite hot during the day, but.... we managed to make it fun. Don't you believe it?

it was quite hot, but I managed to take my own picture...
heheeee.... narsis jalan terus =)
guess what they were talking about...
We arrived at Solo Balapan around 5.15 pm. We went to the hotel by taxi. It was cheap... only 10.500 rups. It was a small hotel. Though not really recommended, the hotel was... well... okay. At least we were lucky that we still got rooms to stay since other nice hotels were already fully booked until new year.
First thing we do in Solo was.... having dinner =) We asked a becal driver on a nice place to try local food. He recommended Galebo. The place was full of people having the same purpose as ours. We ordered wedang ronde, sekoteng, and sop buntut goreng (well, this one is actually not a local food, heheeee)
(to be continued)
